Texas Gun Collectors ShowMandatory Show Rules

The Texas Gun Collectors Association is a member of the National Association of Arms Shows. The rules presented here represent what is considered the standard that all members of the association comply with. Keeping these rules will be for the good of all.

1. NAAS member shows shall require a signed contract from each and every exhibitor which includes requiring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
2. NAAS member shows shall make available to all exhibitors any information provided by ATF or state or local law enforcement agencies relating to applicable laws, including ATF " Notice to Dealers" and ATF guidelines.
3. No loaded firearms or loaded magazines or loaded clips will be permitted in any NAAS member show at anytime by any one other than law enforcement personnel.
4. All cartridge firearms brought to the NAAS show by members of the public shall be checked, cleared, and tied in an inoperable position prior to being brought into the show.
5. No loose ammunition will be allowed at any NAAS member show. All ammunition must be in an original box, sealed container, or under cover (i.e. lidded showcase). Collector cartridges may be exempted by show safety personnel.
6. All cartridge firearms, other than those which are disassembled or those in a glass display case, must be checked, cleared, and secured with a cable tie by the dealer before placing them on display at the show.
7. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted in the gun room during show hours. No exceptions. This is a liability issue that must be addressed.
8. The following items are prohibited from the TGCA show. Stamps, coins, jewelry, clothing, modern machine guns, Nazi items, blowguns, and items of current manufacture unrelated to antique guns. Also, any items deemed unacceptable by the directors of The Texas Gun Collectors Association.
9. Young people 12 years old and older are welcome at TGCA shows when accompanied and supervised by an adult. Remember the number one rule for the young folks is " hands off, don't touch".

The Sergeant at Arms may order any member or individual who violates any of these safety rules to immediately remove themselves and their exhibit from the premises.

Show Schedules

The Fall schedule is detailed below and will generally follow this timetable every year.

The Spring Meeting and Show schedule will pretty much follow this format as well, but as locales will vary each Spring, there may well be significant adjustments to it, especially on Sunday morning when the Membership Business Meeting will be held.

Participation in this meeting, during which the election of officers and directors takes place, is restricted to Members and Life Members only.  However, the public are invited, encouraged even, to observe and perhaps learn a little of how TGCA conducts its business.

We know that many of you have a busy schedule which requires you to leave the show early. We understand this and would like to accommodate you, NOT PENALIZE you. This is Texas, and we don't want to "Fence You In". So, please, just let us know ahead of time about your departure so that we can cover the trail behind you, and keep the show looking good till closing time.

Thank you.
